Meet Elaine Pelino

Elaine Pelino is not a career politician — she's a Rhode Islander who's had enough. Rising costs, struggling businesses, and a system that isn't working. She's stepping up to be honest about what's broken, and push to fix it. Rhode Island deserves better.

Priorities

Priority 1

Government Accountability & Fiscal Reform

Elaine will create a Governor's Office of Accountability to audit state spending, support whistleblowers, and publicly expose where taxpayer money is being wasted — while pushing for a fully independent Inspector General. She will require merit-based hiring, clear performance standards, and accountability across state government, ensuring every hire and promotion is based on results, not politics. Rhode Islanders deserve to know their tax dollars are being spent wisely, and Elaine will make sure they are.

Priority 2

Public Safety & Secure Communities

Elaine will support state law enforcement with the resources they need to target violent and gang-related crime and restore safety in Rhode Island communities. She will work with federal authorities to ensure that individuals who commit serious crimes are identified and held accountable, while prioritizing housing and healthcare resources for Rhode Islanders — including seniors and veterans. Elaine also believes in protecting Second Amendment rights, supporting responsible ownership, and ensuring those rights are preserved while keeping communities safe.

Economy, Education & Opportunity

Elaine will push the General Assembly to lower costs, reduce regulation, and make Rhode Island a place where businesses can grow and hire. As Governor, she will fight to create an economic environment where hard-working Rhode Islanders can thrive — not just survive. She also supports education reform that expands school choice, increases access to trade and technical programs, and keeps classrooms focused on learning and student success. A stronger economy and better schools means a better future for every Rhode Island family.
